The series was published in English by VIZ Media under the VIZ Signature imprint from June 16, 2015, to August 15, 2017, Tokyo Ghoul has been one of the biggest manga hits of the past few years. It is set in an alternate reality where creatures are known as ghouls exist, carnivorous monsters who look exactly like normal people survive by consuming human flesh and live amongst humans in secret. The series focuses on Ken Kaneki, a shy, bookish, an ordinary nineteen years old college student, finds himself caught in a world between humans and ghouls when his date turns out to be a ghoul after his flesh. A few days later, he meets a girl who turns out to be a ghoul intent on eating him, barely surviving this encounter after being taken to a hospital and become a ghoul-human hybrid. A half-ghoul is usually much stronger than a pure-blood ghoul. But there are also beats that feel like missed opportunities to grab viewer attention including the introduction of the ghouls’ face masks. He is injured and undergoes transplant surgery before awakening, Kaneki is saved by the enigmatic waitress Touka Kirishima, Struggling to adapt to his new life, keep his monstrous status hidden from humans, as a ghoul he can't eat regular food but learns it is possible to survive without eating people, Ken tries his best to fit into a ghoul organization called " Anteiku ", unfortunately, his mother pretty much abandoned and neglected him by just concentrating on her sister, she left their child there to defend for himself. Ken Kaneki will make many decisions about who he really is, a human or a ghoul? he will know a lot of ghoul and people who will support him and this will also change him.The anime ended with Kaneki going to Aogiri Tree, the group that tortured him. On the whole, Tokyo Ghoul is a well rounded, mostly accurate adaptation of an amazing horror manga which sees our struggling hero beset by conflict on all sides, both from human investigators and evil ghouls, in a world that neither accepts nor wants him anymore.

He survives the date with Rize, but with surgery, so now he's a half-ghoul. Ken is drawn into the dark and violent world of Ghouls, which exists alongside our own. Then things get messy.
Volume 2 :
Tokyo Ghoul’s second volume has begun to introduce the main conflict as the humans’ power is revealed.Ken Kaneki is unwittingly drawn into the conflict after a near-death experience with ghoul results in an organ transplant that gives him many ghoulish characteristics, including a strong desire for human flesh. He finds salvation in the kindness of friendly Ghouls who teach him how to pass as human and eat flesh humanely. Among the complex personalities he discovers, he notices that despite the fact that humans seem to fear being hunted by ghouls, the ghouls themselves fear being hunted by humans. While the first volume focused on introduction and horror as its primary draw, the second begins to build up the world of Tokyo Ghoul and set the beginning for the conflict between humans and ghouls.
Volume 3 :
Following the events of the previous volume, Kaneki is still trying to get used to his new life when Commission of Counter Ghoul ( CCG ) agents Mado and Amon start sniffing around for Hinami. Inspector Amon faces a similar trial in the loss of his friend and fellow inspector. Mado roams the afterlife. Upon looking down to the other world, Mado admits that he too, just like Amon, was inexperienced, and wishes for Amon to not blame himself and to keep moving forward. However, being unaware of the actual nature of ghouls, he sees the misfortune as very one-sided and thus it actually furthers his hatred of ghouls.
Volume 4 :
Kaneki finds himself the center of attention in the ghoul world. At his supposed dinner table, he is revealed to be " Shuu Tsukiyama ", the Gourmet ghoul, and has a strong interest in Kaneki’s scent. all this attention isn’t necessarily a positive thing as it brings him into contact with Shuu Tsukiyama. Kaneki learns more about what happened to Rize and what it means to be a " One-Eyed Ghoul".
Volume 5 :
Tokyo Ghoul is always in the top best series that has a very steady line of quality with each release. Although Tsukiyama’s arc feels like a relatively minor story in the whole scheme of Tokyo Ghoul. Kaneki, Nishio, and Touka struggle to work together to rescue their human friend Kimi while " Ghoul Investigator " deaths skyrocket in Wards 9 through 12. It all leads to an increase in CCG agents and increased risk for Ghouls. As reinforcements are called in on both sides, the stakes are suddenly higher than ever. Volume 6 :
The character on the cover is known as Juzo Suzuya, a Special Class Ghoul Investigator. and he’s quite weird and incredibly feminine. Things heat up in the 11th Ward as the CCG investigates the high rate of Investigator deaths. Kaneki has an explosive run-in with Aogiri Tree, essentially a Ghoul Gang, run by a Ghoul known only as the " One-Eyed King ".
Volume 7 :
Kaneki is captured and then tortured by Yamori, one of Aogiri Tree organization's most sadistic members. As Tamori’s torture continues. To survive the interrogation, Kaneki fights internally with the ghoul part of him, but if he does, it will change him permanently and push him even further away from being human. Anteiku makes a final decision to go after and save Kaneki.
Volume 8 :
Volume 8 is action packed and really takes the reader through a wide cast of characters from the Anteiku and the CCC. The newly awakened Kaneki unleashes his monstrous strength to protect his friend Touka and finds himself irrevocably changed. Kaneki sets out on his own, After ensuring their safety, he breaks away from the Ghouls who sheltered him so he can search for the truth behind what happened the night when Rize died.
Volume 9 :
This volume spends a lot of time focusing on the inner workings of the CCG. Six months since the Aogiri Tree Operation. the CCG continues their investigation of the Gourmet and the Binge Eater. There are several promotions in the CCG, and Kotaro Amon, finds himself assigned to a new partner who opens up old wounds. Meanwhile, Kaneki and his colleagues search for Rize's true identity brings them face-to-face with the mysterious Madam A.
Volume 10 :
Volume 10 brings together Ken, the investigators and Aogiri Tree as they each search for Dr. Kano’s whereabouts. Kaneki and his friends tangle with Ghouls from the Aogiri Tree organization, the CCG's ongoing investigations bring them dangerously close to discovering Kaneki’s secret. Even more interesting is the fact that Juzo knows the twins from when they were in classes together to become ghoul investigators.
Volume 11 :
After the last volume, there’s not a lot that this one can do to top itself. Amid clashes between Ghouls and the Commission of Counter Ghoul investigators at Doctor Kanou's underground facility, Kaneki finds himself locked in battle with Special Class Ghoul investigator Yukinori Shinohara. Eventually, he gets there, but it takes a very scary moment for him to snap out of it. When the battle subsides, the CCG discovers shocking evidence that leads them closer to discovering the truth behind Kano's sinister plans.
Volume 12 :
Here comes the very interesting volume twelve of Tokyo Ghoul. Its all about character development, backstory, and setup for the next big confrontation. The 4th Ward falls under attack by Assistant Special Investigator Arima of the CCG. Amon finds a connection between the CCG and an underground lab seemingly designed to research turning humans into Ghouls. And an old partnership that could spell trouble for the 20th Ward reforms.
Volume 13 :
There is so much heart in this volume of Tokyo Ghoul. We kick off with another look at Juzo’s backstory this time, and fortunately, it’s done a whole lot better than the previous taste we got. It’s relatively brief, but it cuts to the point and definitely has some punch to it. Investigators from the 20th Ward launch an initiative to take out the Ghoul known as the One-Eyed Owl, who has possible ties to both Akira and Yoshimura. An all-out assault on the Anteiku café, where the Owl is supposedly hiding, results in full-fledged battle.
Volume 14 :
As Kaneki and the fiercest fighter in the CCG, Arima, finally face off, several investigators launch an assault on Yoshimura, unaware of the danger that awaits them. The massive battle takes a turn for the worse when the One-Eyed Owl appears, leaving the fate of Kaneki and the CCG hanging in the balance.

With such a dubious ally and flesh-hungry Ghouls all around, does Tōru even stand a chance?
Volume 4 :
The chapters in this volume are definitely meant to set up the next conflict and not do too much else. The volume begins with a lighthearted Christmas party thrown by Sasaki and the Qs squad, and it’s a nice breathing period after all the gore and horror of the Ghoul auction. It’s nice seeing the characters interact in a calm setting outside work, as it allows the reader to connect with them more for their personalities rather than just their battle abilities. This is especially true of characters in other squads besides the main cast’s since we haven’t had a ton of time to get to know them yet.
Volume 5 :
The Qs Squad once again proves its worth by going undercover to collect vital Ghoul information, allowing the CCG finally move forward with a massive eradication campaign.
